The Prospectus:

THE STEPHENSON LOCOMOTIVE SOCIETY (N.W. AREA) & MANCHESTER LOCOMOTIVE SOC.
WEST CUMBERLAND RAILTOUR SUNDAY, 5th. SEPTEMBER, 1954

Final arrangements have been completed, and your ticket(s) and itinerary
specially written by Mr. W. McGowan Gradon, to whom we owe our thanks,
are enclosed herewith.
DEPARTURE TIMES.
Manchester (Vic) 9-25 am.  Bolton 9-49 am.  Preston 10-30 am.
Lancaster (Castle) 10-58 am. Carnforth 11-9 am. Grange 11-25 am.
Ulverston 11-40 am.  Dalton 11-58 am.  Millom 12-20 pm.
Seascale 12-50 pm.  Workington (Main) 12-0 noon. Dransty 12-18pm.
TOUR TRAIN leaves Sellafield 1-20 pm.
LIABILITY Neither the Promoting Societies nor the British Transport
Commission can accept liability for personal injury, damage to property,
etc; and your acceptance of a ticket takes cognizance of this fact.
REFRESHMENTS are available on the Excursion Train only. The usual type
of refreshments, drinks, ice cream etc will be available on demand.
In addition, three set menus are available as f o l l o w s : -
MENU  "A"  Cold Chicken & Salad,  Roll & butter, Cold Sweet. @  5/6d.
          "B"  Cold Ham & salad, Roll & butter.                        @ 2/9d.
          "C" Ham & Tongue & salad, Roll & butter.                  @ 3/-s
Tomato Juice, Cheese & biscuits, tea etc. are extra.
To enable the Catering Staff to make adequate arrangements, anyone requiring
meals must let me know immediately of their requirements, stating
which menu required. Meals will be served outward and return.
A SPECIAL MAP has been prepared through the kindness of Mr. A. Chambers,
to whom we are greatly indebted. This map measures 25" x 15" and is to
1" scale and is reproduced by photographic blue - print method. The map
has been prepared from 1915 R.C.H. Junction Diagrams and 1" & 2" Ordnance
Maps. This will be available on the day at a cost of 2/0s. approx but
will only be prepared to special order. The map is detailed and shows
mineral lines etc. If you require a copy, please order immediately from:-

THE WORKINGTON IRON & STEEL CO. has kindly agreed to a visit to the
railway & traffic installations at their works on Monday, 6th, September,

D.0.S. BARROW to provide an Inspector to travel with the train and be
responsible for seeing that all points not fitted with a facing point lock which
require to be passed over in the facing direction are securely clipped.
Special authority is given for the above train to work from Workington Main to
Buckhill and from Buckhill to Workington Central with an engine coupled at either
end.
Special authority is also given for Class 3F (0-6-0) Furness locomotives to work
over the following sections of line for the occasion of working the above
special train :-
                                   Marion Junction - Camerton (William Pit).
                                   Calva Junction - Buckhill.
